Ferran: I see myself more and more as a center-forward

Ferran Torres has been talking about his favourite positions to play and says he sees himself increasingly as a center-forward.

The Spain star is known for his versatility but does have a decent goalscoring record, particularly for Spain, and has scored five goals for Barcelona this season.

Ferran says he enjoys playing up front and is learning plenty from Robert Lewandowski - one of very best strikers in the business.

> “Starting from the basis that the more positions you can play, the better, it is true that as a ‘9’ I feel very comfortable and things are going better for me there,” he told Sport.

> “In the future I see myself more and more as a centre-forward.

>

> “\[Flick\] tells me a lot to look at Robert (Lewandowski), who in the end is a reference of the last 15 years. I try to be a sponge, copy him, do it as he does and acquire the qualities that he has.”

Ferran has played a bit-part role this season [but has made an impact off the bench](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/11/24316999/borussia-dortmund-barcelona-champions-league-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions) and is determined to make the most of any chances he gets.

> “You have to make the minutes useful. If you have three, you have to give your all until you can’t take it anymore. From there, we are players who have talent and when you give things, things come.

>

> “I’m not a starter right now but my mentality is to approach each game as if it were the last, it doesn’t matter if I’m a starter or a substitute. I only see minutes.”

Torres will be hoping for another chance against Atletico but will have to wait to find out if he’s in the starting XI or back on the bench.
