Oliver Glasner wants Caleb Kporha to stay with the Crystal Palace squad for the remainder of the season.
Kporha, 18, made his first senior start for the Eagles in Wednesday's Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat, filling in for the suspended Daniel Munoz.
The right wing-back was substituted for 33-year-old Nathaniel Clyne at half time after picking up a yellow card in the first half.
With Munoz sidelined for Crystal Palace's second clash with Arsenal this week, Glasner disclosed that the academy graduate will once again receive minutes against the Gunners.
"He was subbed because of the yellow card. When you have to defend so many one-on-one duels against their wingers, you have to take care. At 1-0 up, you can’t afford to lose a player, so we took him off.
"He did okay for his first start. You could see that he was a little bit impressed at the beginning, but he got better and better. Everything is fine.
"Neither he nor Clyne were expected to play the whole game, so we made the change. Clyney did well in the second half. It’s good to have these players available. Against Bournemouth, Daniel Munoz is back – so it’s good.

"It’s too busy to talk too much. It’s something that has to settle. He got the minutes, he deserved the minutes, but how much he can learn is on him.
"We all, including myself, could learn a lot from the cup game. Hopefully, we can do it a bit better tomorrow to get a better result.
"Caleb will get some minutes because we don’t have many wing-backs available. I’m confident in him, and I trust in him."
Considering whether the England youth international would be a candidate for a loan in January, Glasner suggested that SE25 is the best place for Kporha to develop.
"He’s 18. He has a lot to learn, but he is on a really good pathway. I don’t think \[he will go on loan\].
"I want the players who are close to the team to stay with us and train with us. Learn from their teammates in training. Learn how we want to play.
"Then, If I think he doesn’t get any minutes, it will be better for him to have a loan. But I think he will get his minutes. I think it’s better he stays here.
