Chelsea ready sign£58M star, Midfielder to make shock January move, Chelsea green light sign £60M star

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icchelseanews that features the likes of Kieran Drewsbury-Hall, Gregor Kobel and Evan Ferguson…

CHELSEA are plotting a move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, with doubts growing over Robert Sanchez’s place as the club’s long-term No.1 as they paln to upgrade that goalkeeping area of the squad.

Everyone has been socked by the start to the season that we have had, they are second in the Premier League and looking like a side that will be very hard to stop this season as Enzo Maresca has made a massive impact.

But there have been many reports in the media that we are looking to improve a number of areas in the squad and adding a new stopper to the side is something that will reportedly help us really win that Premier League title.

Now, According to German publication BILD, Dortmund will struggle to keep hold of Kobel next summer should they fail to secure Champions League qualification – and Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing the Switzerland international.

Kobel has made 136 appearances in all competitions since joining Dortmund from Stuttgart back in 2021, while twice being named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

The imposing 6 ft 5 in shot-stopper recently became Switzerland’s first-choice after Yann Sommer announced his retirement from international football.

The report claims Chelsea would be prepared to pay a fee of between €70m-80m (£58-66m) to lure the 27-year-old Swiss away from Germany.

Look, Sanchez does not really do too many things wrong and cost the club too many goals, it is that defence that has been an issue and that is why a new stopper is not really a priority for the club

Kobel is a quality stopper, but is he really any better than what we have now? that will be the question

DREWSBURY-HALL TO MAKE SHOCK MOVE?

Arsenal has reportedly set its sights on CHELSEA midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, aiming to rejuvenate the player’s stagnating career, shock reports have emerged in the media this week.

After the arrival of Enzo Maresca at the beginning of the summer window – it was claimed that the Italian was very keen to bring Drewsbury-Hall to Stamford Bridge after a very impressive season at Leicester last year.

However, the move to London has not worked out for the player, He has clocked up just 43 minutes of Premier League action over three appearances this season, with only one of those – a six-minute stint at West Ham – coming since August.

While he has been given more opportunities in the Europa Conference League and the EFL Cup – even scoring in a recent 4-2 victory over Gent – he has frequently been left out of the Premier League squad in recent weeks.

As per CaughtOffside, the Gunners are now the frontrunners for his signature, planning a move that could see Dewsbury-Hall swap blue for red in 2025. Despite the player’s struggle to find a regular spot in Chelsea’s starting eleven, Arsenal appears ready to offer him a lifeline

The club would like to sell in January, but if a loan move happens, it will probably be the best thing as Drewsbury-Hall is not getting any better just sitting on the bench every week.

If Arsenal want the player they can have him, he is pretty much a player that has never made an impact here anyways

CHELSEA GREEN LIGHT TO SIGN EVAN FERGUSON

Brighton have made reportedly made striker and long-term CHELSEA transfer target Evan Ferguson available for loan in January, according to The Telegraph.

During the summer transfer window, there was alot of transfer speculation that we could make a move to try and acquire the services of Ferguson, who is rated as one of the best young forwards in the Premier League.

There was talk that a £150 million valuation was set on the young mans shoulders, but in the end, the option to stay at Brighton was took as clubs did not want to pay silly money in order to get the young man all signed up.

Things, though, have drastically changed for the player in the 2024-25 campaign as he is struggling for game time under new manager Fabian Hurzeler. Ferguson has appeared in nine matches across all competitions so far, however, he has started only in three games.

Frustrated with his role in the team, the player is reportedly seeking an exit route, with a number of Premier League clubs interested, according to Football Insider.

Now The Telegraph report that Brighton have made the decision to allow Ferguson to depart the club until the end of the season in order to get some first team minutes, and would like the star to stay in the Premier League

Danny Welbeck, Joao Pedro and Georginio Rutter are all ahead of him in the German’s thinking.

He certainly does not want to spend the next few seasons out on loan and needs to make a permanent move away from the club if he does not get the game time he wants, it will not change unless he is scoring 20 goals a season.

He just is not good enough for us yet,
