Everton follow up major new stadium announcement with exciting next steps

It is not just the takeover on Merseyside which will be providing excitement to the Everton fans.

After years of misery on and off the pitch, it really has been quite the week for Everton fans who have seen their club begin a new chapter.

The Friedkin Group have finally been handed the keys to Goodison Park with months of waiting finally over for the new owners.

Dan Friedkin has shared his excitement as he addressed the Everton fans on Thursday morning following the announcement.

And it is not just Goodison which the Friedkins have been handed the keys to with the new stadium now in the hands of the club.

New Everton stadium officially handed over to the club

Earlier this week, the new Everton stadium passed testing ahead of the keys being passed over to the club.

On Friday afternoon, the club confirmed the stadium had now been handed over to their control.

With the structure of the stadium now complete, the club will oversee a six-month process of fitting out the interior of the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

There will now be a series of test events taking place ahead of the 2025/26 season in order for the stadium to pass official health and safety regulations.

Having now departed the club, Farhad Moshiri has requested a visit to the new stadium when it is fully completed for next season.

Whether Everton fans will welcome Moshiri back is a different matter, but the new home for the Toffees is set to be one of the best around.

Marc Watts left stunned by new Everton stadium

Having taken on his role at the club on Tuesday, Everton CEO has already been thrown into the deep end with plenty going on.

Watts held a meeting with Sean Dyche at Everton as the pair met for the first time since the takeover was completed.

Speaking about his trip to the new stadium, Watts admitted he felt incredibly privileged to be a part of the process.

“I feel privileged to be here today to be part of the handover of this magnificent stadium in this stunning, unrivalled location,” he said.

“It is an illustrious moment in the history of Everton and marks a new era for the Club on many levels.”

The Friedkin Group are ready to transform Everton and this new stadium is certainly going to play its role as the club looks to start afresh.
