‘I’m telling you’: Pundit is adamant familiar face will rock up at Everton now The Friedkin…

Everton fans can now look forward to a brighter future with their takeover finally over the line.

There is a natural excitement brewing on Merseyside with Everton fans being offered new hope for what could be to come.

The Friedkin Group will attend Everton against Chelsea on the weekend as they take in their first experience at Goodison Park.

But there are some big issues which are going to need to be solved with the Toffees struggling in the opening months of the season.

Everton are set to keep Kevin Thelwell as their sporting director but the future of Sean Dyche is not as clear.

Everton tipped to replace Sean Dyche with Jose Mourinho

Dyche says The Friedkin Group are showing him support following his meeting with CEO Marc Watts on Friday.

However, football is a fickle game and a few poor results could well see that change with some difficult fixtures ahead to see out 2024.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Darren Bent has mooted a potential reunion between The Friedkin Group and Jose Mourinho after their time together with AS Roma.

“The only reason why I mentioned Jose is – new stadium, going into it, big owners, statement! He spoke about wanting to come back to the Premier League,” said Bent.

“I just wonder… They’ve had big managers before – Ancelotti, Marco Silva, they’ve had big managers, so there’s no reason why all of a sudden, like a fresh start (they could get Mourinho).

“Do you know what? I’m telling you now, that would not surprise me one bit.”

Chris Sutton has warned Everton against sacking Dyche as he has suggested it could well lead to their relegation this season.

The 53-year-old has until the summer remaining on his contract which he will be hoping to see out at the very least ahead of their move into the new stadium.

Jose Mourinho aimed Dan Friedkin dig after Roma sacking

Despite guiding AS Roma to the Europa Conference League trophy, Mourinho was sacked by Roma at the start of the year.

It has not been a straightforward 2024 for Roma who have now sacked Ivan Juric who has just been appointed Southampton manager.

On his way out of Rome, Mourinho took a swipe at Friedkin’s football knowledge.

‘I won’t be there at these final stages, not because I have already been eliminated, but because I was ‘eliminated’ by someone who knows little about football,” he said.

‘That’s life, full of ups and downs, and I’m growing, despite the unexpected and unfair dismissal.’

A lot has gone on with The Friedkin Group’s Italian side this season, but a reunion between with Mourinho would seem unlikely after these comments.
