Arsenal have been in the market to strengthen several positions of late, with talents from around the world emerging on the club’s radar. As per reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Gunners have agreed to pay UD Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro’s hefty £50m release clause to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old can play as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger, which would offer Arsenal versatility in terms of where to play him. Also linked with Aston Villa, Moleiro is seen as a signing for the long-term given his age and relative inexperience.
However, the report adds that Alberto Moleiro would be the perfect addition to the Gunners’ existing roster. A young, talented and highly-motivated squad will provide the ideal environment for the Spaniard’s development. Additionally, playing under one of the best Spanish coaches in Mikel Arteta could prove a decisive factor.
Currently playing for one of the smaller sides in Spain, a move to the Premier League would be a major step-up for Moleiro in terms of intensity as well as other factors. Considering he has the attributes to succeed in England, it remains to be seen how this deal materializes.

Alberto Moleiro was born in Tenerife in Spain in 2003 and joined Las Palmas’ youth academy as a 15-year-old in 2018. He made appearances for their B and C teams in the two years that followed, and finally made his first-team bow in 2021.
Despite being just 21, the attacker has amassed 128 appearances for Las Palmas, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists across competitions. His ability to play centrally and also in wide areas could make him the perfect cover for Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard as well as left winger Gabriel Martinelli.
The deal is still in the very early stages, if the aforementioned report is to be believed. However, it is still uncertain whether the Gunners would shell out such a big amount for a 21-year-old.
