Sean Dyche is unlikely to remain in charge of Everton beyond this season after The Friedkin Group’s takeover, according to The i.

The newspaper, reporting via their website on Friday (20 December), added that a person who has worked closely with the Friedkinds believes there is “no way” that the Englishman will continue to be the Toffees’ manager beyond his existing contract.

Furthermore, the 53-year-old does not match Dan Friedkin and co’s ethos, with the German school of managers rated highly instead.

Meetings to discuss Dyche’s future are planned over the “next couple of days”, although the Friedkins are wary of rocking the boat amid a relegation battle.

Therefore, it is evident that Dyche’s two-year reign on Merseyside is likely to come to a close at the end of the current season.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

However, the Friedkins must be careful with their decision over the former Burnley boss as they would not want to see his influence in the dressing room wane as the Toffees battle to avoid relegation unless they want to sack him immediately.

Apart from Dyche, director of football Kevin Thelwell also faces an uncertain future at Goodison Park as his contract expires in the summer.

Thelwell, though, will have the opportunity to impress the owners, according to the aforementioned source.

Everton Kevin Thelwell

Kevin Thelwell’s Everton contract expires in 2025.

The Friedkin Group are seemingly leaning towards keeping him on, with the director of football faring well with limited resources so far.

Although the January transfer window is expected to still be “tough”, Thelwell could be given times and resources to prove himself moving forward.

In other Everton news, David Moyes has shared a new relegation prediction, rating the Toffees’ chances of survival.
