Arsenal, who many would have expected to seriously challenge for the title again this season, sit third in the table and four points behind the Blues in second.
They laboured in the 0-0 draw with Everton last weekend, though will hope Wednesday’s display has breathed new life into their title challenge.
Palace, meanwhile, may have lost earlier this week but have enjoyed a strong run of late after a difficult start to the season.
Oliver Glasner’s side beat rivals Brighton 3-1 last weekend to extend their unbeaten run to five League games.
