The Everton star who'll want revenge on Chelsea and Cole Palmer, after humiliating display in…

Everton are taking on Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League and Sean Dyche’s side are again big underdogs.

Everton managed to get a 0-0 draw with Arsenal last weekend, which was a good result

Mikel Arteta was critical of the way Everton played, but it was dogged display from the Toffees that earned a potentially very important point. Dyche’s outfit will not be the last to play that way at the Emirates Stadium.

Another very tough game awaits Everton on Sunday, with Chelsea coming to Goodison Park.

Chelsea have been flying high in recent weeks under Enzo Maresca and are currently second in the table.

Cole Palmer has been shining for them, as he has done since he first arrived there, and he will need keeping in check on Sunday.

And one man who’ll be determined to do that more than most is Jarrad Branthwaite.

The last time these two sides met was in April, with Everton going to Stamford Bridge.

The Toffees were humbled by the Blues 6-0, and it was truly a night to forget – especially for Branthwaite.

Everton were just all over the place defensively that night, conceding four goals in the first-half, with Palmer scoring a hat-trick.

And there was one moment that Branthwaite likely still remembers, and it was when Palmer produced a nutmeg on the centre-back as he went to press him.

Palmer exchanged passes with Nicolas Jackson before sweeping a finish into the far corner.

Branthwaite was then forced off with an injury just before the hour mark. The Liverpool Echo gave him a 3/10 for his performance that night.

Branthwaite will have fire in his belly

That last meeting with Chelsea was a very bad night for the club, and potentially one of Braithwaite’s worst displays for Everton.

The game on Sunday is at Goodison Park, so that hopefully acts as a leveller between the two teams, and we will not be seeing a repeat of what happened in April.

Everton and Chelsea head-to-head

Everton wins – 60

Draws – 56

Chelsea wins – 76

Branthwaite will no doubt be determined to get revenge for what happened to him personally in that game.

He likely won’t be getting close to Palmer too regularly on Sunday, with the midfielders expected to keep tabs on him.

But any chance Branthwaite gets to engage with Chelsea star man, he’ll certainly be looking to come out on top. But he;s got to be wary, with Palmer once again in terrific form for the Blues.
