Nottingham Forest are considering bolstering their attacking options in the January transfer window, with Nuno Espirito Santo aiming to maintain the club’s push for European football.
Forest have been blessed with the remarkable form of Chris Wood this season, with the latest of the Kiwi striker’s ten Premier League goals coming in Forest’s away win against Manchester United.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank praised Wood ahead of Forest’s trip to face The Bees on Saturday but plenty more of Forest’s attacking stars have impressed in recent weeks.
Forest fans praised Anthony Elanga after his dramatic goal in Forest’s win over Aston Villa, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi have also impressed this season.
Despite this, Espirito Santo will still be looking for any potential way to improve his side’s chances of maintaining their fourth-place position in the Premier League table, which, as reports suggest, may spell the end of one forgotten Forest man’s time at the club.

Nottingham Forest may listen to offers for Taiwo Awoniyi
According to the Daily Mail, Forest are actively looking for a forward in the January transfer window, with the report suggesting that Taiwo Awoniyi could suffer as a consequence.
The report said: “Expect Forest to move for another forward in January and if they can sign one, the club will likely listen to offers for Taiwo Awoniyi.”
Forest have been linked with Raul Moro, a young Spanish forward from Real Valladolid, whilst Santiago Gimenez is available for Forest once more in January after the club’s well-documented pursuit of the Mexican striker.

Awoniyi hasn’t contributed a goal or assist in his 11 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, playing second fiddle to the in-form Wood and not doing enough to truly fight for a spot in the starting line up.
Even though it seems to make sense to move on from Awoniyi, his contributions in previous seasons won’t be forgotten.
Stats show how important Taiwo Awoniyi has been for Forest
Espirito Santo said he trusts Awoniyi recently, with the striker last starting a match in Forest’s 3-0 defeat against Arsenal.
However, Awoniyi has provided some good memories for Forest fans, with his role in the 2022/23 season a particularly crucial one.
Awoniyi scored ten league goals that season, leading the line in Forest’s first season back in the top flight of English football.
Brennan Johnson was Awoniyi’s closest goalscoring competitor with eight strikes, followed by Gibbs-White with five.
If the January window is to be the end of the Nigerian striker’s time at the club, Forest fans should appreciate the contribution he made to the club two seasons ago, whilst also eagerly anticipating how he will be replaced in the Forest squad.
