Barcelona considering €60m Bayern Munich forward as another option for the left wing

The left wing is one of the positions that FC Barcelona wanted to strengthen in the last summer transfer window, and for this purpose, they remained linked with the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams throughout the last market.

However, they were unable to land him, and this area remains a priority of the Catalan club to be strengthened next summer. For this purpose, they have already been linked with several high-profile names like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leao.

Meanwhile, the Blaugranes are also looking at some low-cost options, and according to SPORT one quality winger who falls in this category is the Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane, whose contract with the Bavarian club ends at the end of this season, and whose renewal is looking increasingly complicated.

The German’s name is under consideration at Barcelona, even though he currently still prioritises remaining in Bundesliga. He has been negotiating a renewal with Bayern for months now, but Vincent Kompany’s team is not short on options in attack, and although the Bavarians will consider his renewal if he agrees to decrease his salary drastically, he is still considered expendable.

In such a scenario, his entourage has already started looking for other options, and big Premier League sides like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham have shown an interest in him. Meanwhile, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation of the Bayern winger who was already offered to them two years ago.

One factor that can pull the German forward to Barcelona is Hansi Flick, as the Blaugrana coach knows Sane very well, and might want a player of his qualities as he only has Lamine Yamal as a differential wide player, keeping in consideration Raphinha’s propensity to move centrally from the wings.
