'Not a normal player': Enzo Fernandez says he loves playing on the same team as 'exceptional' Chelsea teammate

Enzo Fernandez has really started to grow in stature in the Chelsea team during recent weeks.

It’s been a bit up and down for Enzo Fernandez during his first couple of years as a Chelsea player, but supporters are starting to see the best of him now.

The 23-year-old central midfielder is thriving in Enzo Maresca’s system, where he’s encouraged to push forward and join in with attacks. In 20 Blues appearances this season across all competitions, Fernandez has contributed three goals and eight assists.

Martin Keown says Fernandez looks unrecognisable in Chelsea’s team after making huge improvements this campaign.

Enzo Fernandez full of praise for Moises Caicedo

Fernandez claims he loves playing alongside Moises Caicedo, 23, in the Chelsea midfield.

“Sharing the pitch with Moi is incredible. I insisted a lot that he came to Chelsea when the club went to sign him. Now he’s here, you can see he’s not a normal player,” Fernandez told Sky Sports.

“He is a great person as well and he brings us a lot as a team and as a team-mate. We are getting on very well. Every day we understand each other more. He is an exceptional player. I hope to share many years with him on the pitch here at Chelsea.”

In similar fashion, Caicedo recently claimed him and Fernandez are gelling better in Chelsea’s midfield.
