Agent insists Newcastle player ‘has no conflict’ with Eddie Howe – ‘Many teams’ want to sign him

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe hasn’t relied upon Miguel Almirón regularly in the Premier League this season.

The winger has clocked in 283 minutes from nine appearances in all competitions and 119 minutes came from six league games.

Almirón’s agent Daniel Campos spoke to Monumental 1080’s FLAG to discuss his client’s future at Newcastle and his relationship with Howe. His comments are relayed by D10.

The representative has made it clear there’s no differences between the 30-year-old and Howe, and what the Paraguay international needs.

“Miguel Almirón has no conflict with his coach [Howe]. Only that the player is looking for minutes,” he said.

Campos spoke to La Union AM’s Futbol Club on Friday, revealing that the Newcastle man turned down an offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club. He also said Almirón is open to listening to offers in the winter market.

Despite the South American’s lack of regular game time at Newcastle, the agent now says his client has a market in Europe, but Almirón’s high salary could make an exit, likely in January, complicated.

“Many teams in Europe want him, but the issue is his high salary. If he doesn’t leave, Almirón will stay to fulfil his contract at Newcastle, where he’s an idol,” Campos explained.

The player’s contract at the Tyneside club lasts until 2026. The agent hasn’t revealed the details of the European clubs that want to sign the Newcastle attacker.
