West Ham ‘start discussions’ to buy player in ‘coming weeks’ – Hammers thrilled with his commitment

On summer deadline day, Carlos Soler arrived at West Ham United on a loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spain international initially started as a substitute before Julen Lopetegui included him in the Hammers’ starting lineup since November’s international break.

His performances have convinced West Ham to make the 27-year-old’s stay permanent, according to Le Parisien.

The Premier League side have no obligation to buy the midfielder, but the report says they have included a purchase option of €20m, which West Ham ‘could wish to exercise in the coming weeks’.

To do this, the London club have already ‘started discussions’ with the Ligue 1 winners.

Soler has settled in well at West Ham, after a complicated start, and his commitment to the club has left Lopetegui’s side delighted.

Earlier this month, the former Valencia man stated he’s enjoying life in the English capital, hinting at a longer a stay at West Ham. This should also please the Hammers in their efforts to retain him beyond this season.

Soler’s deal at PSG lasts until 2027 and Luis Enrique’s side may not oppose selling him to West Ham.
