One Chelsea player who was being used as striker by Enzo Maresca is ready to leave the club in January. He has taken the decision due to lack of regular football. The player has failed to secure his place as regular starter.
The Blues have a vast squad which makes it hard for Maresca to provide everyone with sufficient game time. As a result, many stars are unhappy and on the verge of leaving. Over the recent days, many players have been linked with exit.
Recently, three midfielders and one defender were said to be ready to leave the club. Now, they have joined by an attacking star who has been used as a striker by Maresca this season. The player in question is Christopher Nkunku.
Christopher Nkunku ready to leave Chelsea in January
According to TBR football, Nkunku is ready to leave the club in January. He has taken the decision after failing to secure his place as a regular starter. The 27 year old is having a fantastic season, but has not been able to play regularly on the highest stage.
Nkunku has player 24 matches in all competitions this season. He has scored 12 goals and picked 4 assists. But, he has only been able to start 2 Premier League games so far. In addition, he has played mostly as striker which is not his natural position.
Nkunku is 27 years old which means he has already entered the peak of his career. He will not want to sit on the bench and just be a backup. Hence, it justifies his desire of wanting a move away from the Blues.
Earlier, Man United were heavily linked with Nkunku. They may step up their interest in January due to current situations. Marcus Rashford is heavily linked with exit which will open up space. Nkunku will be a decent replacement for the Englishman.
