Gary Neville - Jamie Carragher
Gary Neville attempted to buy Jamie Carragher a stone on the Everton Way for his Secret Santa gift on The Overlap
Gary Neville appears to have had a request for Jamie Carragher to have a commemorative stone at Everton’s new stadium rejected. The former Manchester United defender bought his Sky Sports co-presenter a brick in the Everton Way for his Secret Santa gift on their Sky show The Overlap.
The joke sparked plenty of coverage online, including a backlash in some quarters given the feature of the Blues’ new stadium is set to be a place of tribute and celebration for dedicated supporters and their loved ones.
The brick was due to read ‘Jamie Carragher - forever a Blue’ - a nod to the ex-Liverpool defender's past as an Everton supporter.

It now appears Neville’s order for his colleague has been turned down, however.
Carragher took to Instagram to share an update, which featured the message: “Hi Carra, someone at Everton got in touch with me this morning and unfortunately the brick for Everton Way has been rejected.”
Everton Way is set to be one of several touching features of the club’s new stadium and will be a poignant point for reflection for many Blues.
Demand has been huge, leading the club to make more bricks available earlier this month due to size of the waiting list following previous sales periods.
