Enzo Maresca says Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are likely to be the first CHELSEA players to ask to leave the club when the January window opens up in just a few weeks time, due to their lack of playing time.
Chelsea have spent alot of money over the past few transfer windows on players that they believe will help the club challenge for trophies and that Premier League title, some signings have worked and some signings have struggled.
Chilwell has made just one appearance this season which came in the Carabao Cup as he has bene plagued by injuries during his time at Stamford Bridge, while Chukwuemeka has predominately featured in the Conference League as he has not made the impact that he would have liked.
And with the January window just around the corner, Maresca has now opened up and confirmed that the duo are likely to ask to leave the club – Maresca said: “There are players that unfortunately they didn’t play a lot with us in all the competitions like (Ben) Chilwell, like Carney (Chukwuemeka).
“Probably they are the first [to say] that they want to leave because they train every day because they want to play games and if they don’t play games probably they are thinking of leaving.
“Each player is a bit different situation, so we’re going to see if some of them are coming and knocking on the door to say I want to leave or something like that. We will try to find a solution.”

Chukwuemeka and Chilwell needs to leave the club, they are not part of the plan under Enzo Maresca and need to reignite their careers elsewhere. There will surely be some offers for Chukwuemeka, but it will be interesting to see what happens to an injury plagued Chilwell.
