Wolves travel to Leicester City in Vitor Pereira’s first game in charge on Sunday.
Supporters will be hoping that the Pereira era can bring greater fortunes than what they witnessed under Gary O’Neil, as Wolves secured just two league wins at the start of 2024/25.
The Portuguese boss, who arrives from Saudi Arabian outfit Al Shabab, has a huge task on his hands to drag the Old Gold to safety.
Wolves are currently 19th in the Premier League table after 16 matches, and trail 17th place Leicester City by five points.
Luckily, there is renewed confidence from the fanbase that the 56-year-old can turn the season around. Pereira has already impressed with his training ground methods.
Meanwhile, Wolves midfielder Andre has noticed a big difference between O’Neil and Pereira, as the manager speaking Portuguese is beneficial in a multi-cultural dressing room.
Now, the 23-year-old has sent a message to the fans who are travelling to the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Andre sends message to the Wolves fans travelling to Leicester
The supporters at Molineux have been sent through hell and back in recent times. The Fosun ownership has sent Wolves spiralling down the table with their ill-fated decision-making off the pitch.
There has also been little to shout about on it with just two league wins since April and a whopping 40 goals conceded in 16 games.
But with a new manager at the helm, it’s time for everyone to come together as one and cheer the Old Gold on to survival.
So, ahead of their trip to Leicester, Andre has sent a message to the Wolves fans, urging them to give the players ‘positive energy’ from the stands so they can use it as fuel on the pitch.
“It’s going to be a very difficult game this weekend, another direct confrontation, and we just have to think about winning this game. It’s a game against another team at the bottom end of the table and we can’t continue lose more points,” Andre told Wolves’ official website.
“We ask that all of the fans of Wolves are with us at this time – to support us, to give a lot of positive energy so that we can get out of this situation as quickly as possible, and we, as players, will use this as fuel on the pitch.
“We have to take Vitor Pereira’s game on as quickly as possible so that the victories can begin and we can get out of this situation.”
What Wolves fans can expect from Pereira
Andre has instructed the fans to get behind the team, which they always have done, but they also need to be watching some excitement on the pitch.
One Brazilian expert has spoken highly of Pereira when he managed Corinthians, as he urges his full-backs to push high while promoting control in a high-pressing system.
The new Wolves manager also spoke about his style of play in Friday’s pre-match press conference, and the fans will be excited by what he said.
“I’m a very strategic coach, tactical. I like to see good football with good tactical ideas, but every time giving freedom to the players to express themselves,” Pereira said.
“The tactics cannot be something that doesn’t give you the freedom to express yourself. If you want to express yourself, you must express yourself to the team.
“Not to do individual things, fantastic things, but do it to help the team, or do it in our tactical idea, because it’s not my game. It’s something that we need to consume together, because it’s not the game of Vitor, it’s the game of Wolves, and we started this work yesterday.”
Promoting freedom will get the best out of his attacking talent and Pereira has already worked on defending set-pieces as he aims to strike the perfect balance in defence and attack.
