Eddie Howe makes predicted change to the lineup as Newcastle United take on Ipswich Town

· December 21 2024, 13:59

**Newcastle United kick-off their third match in seven days at 3pm as they take on Premier League new boys Ipswich Town at Portman Road.**

Ipswich have yet to win at home this season which is usually the type of streak that ends when Newcastle United are involved such is our charitable nature.

Hopefully, the recent performances and results at home continue on the road today.

Eddie Howe has been forced into one change with Joelinton suspended for accumulating five yellow cards.

Nailed it again!

Joe Willock has replaced Joelinton in Newcastle's only change

-------------------------------------------------------------

As we expected, Joe Willock has replaced Joelinton in the starting line up, much like he replaced him at halftime in midweek after the Brazilian picked up his facial injuries.

Howe has resisted the urge to tinker any more as he often does when he finds a winning formula. Hopefully, the one change won't make too much of a difference to things.

Newcastle have been backed to come away with a win by the pundits, and Ipswich's home form should be a big boost towards that too, but we've been known to squander 'easy' opportunities to bag three points before.

Ipswich are missing their main man up front

-------------------------------------------

Ipswich are without Liam Delap who is suspended but Sammy Szmodics is no stranger to Newcastle and indeed scoring against them.

Lifelong Newcastle fan Leif Davis starts for the Tractor Boys and I'm not going to lie, I've not even heard of anyone else in the squad other than Omari Hutchinson, who, to be fair, has looked decent this season.

HOWAY EDDIE HOWE'S WE KNOW YOU LIKE TO BE CHARITABLE AND IT IS CHRISTMAS BUT PLEASE JUST GET THE JOB DONE MAGS!
