Arteta speaks on Arsenal future, Gunners told sign£100M star, Arteta responds reports Arsenal could sign Prem Star

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta insists he is not thinking too far ahead about his long-term future on the five-year anniversary of his appointment as ARSENAL boss.

Arteta took over a struggling 10th-placed side three weeks after Unai Emery had been sacked ans has transformed the Gunners into one of the most dynamic, exciting and consistent teams to watch in the Premier League.

They may be off the points in the Premier League as Liverpool lead the way, but there is a feeling that Arsenal will continue to fight for that title until the very end of the season, and may pick up a trophy or two in the process.

However – despite that new contract at the Emirates, much has been been said about the lon-term plans for Arteta as there is constant speculation that he is one manager that the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and even Manchester City are keeping a close eye on.

But now Arteta has admitted that he remains emphatic about how much he enjoys the role at Arsenal – and is not thinking too much about the future – Put to him if he could imagine himself as Arsenal boss another five years down the line, Arteta instantly replied: “No. I mean, I think you have to live in the present in this job, and obviously you have to plan for what’s coming in the mid-term and long-term, that’s for sure, and we have a lot of conversations regarding that.

“But I think the energy has to be in the moment, paying attention to every detail and understanding how things are working, putting more processes in place to make better decisions, and always have that aim to keep everybody in this fit, to get the best out of them, and make sure they feel part of what they do.”

If the success comes with the great football that ARSENAL are playing, they could be the next Manchester City and dominate the Premier League, but if this current squad of players cannot win that title, then Arteta may feel that he is not the right man to lead the club.

ARSENAL TOLD TO SIGN ISAK

Manchester United hero Dwight Yorke says ARSENAL should ‘bang £100m on the table’ for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak ‘if they want to win the title’ under Mikel Arteta in the coming seasons.

Arsenal have one of the best defences in the Premier League, have some of the best creative players in Europe but do not have a striker that has the ability to bang in 30 goals a season.

Kai Havertz can be impressive at times and has netted a few goals this season, while Gabriel Jesus can find the net when he is fit and healthy, which has been a problem over the past few seasons, and that is why many fans want to see a striker signed, and Isak has been mentioned.

Isak has proven himself to be one of the most dangerous strikers in the Premier League in a side that struggles with consistency and Yorke says Alexander Isak would score ‘so many goals’ at the Emirates Stadium if the Gunners managed to get a deal done.

‘Everyone keeps banging on about Arsenal missing a number nine, and I do think there’s something to it,’ the ex-United striker told sportlens.com. ‘You watch their games, the last two, they’ve been so dominant and haven’t been able to win the games.

‘Let’s have it right, they’ve dropped four vital points in their two last Premier League fixtures against Everton and Fulham.

‘They’re missing something. I can’t understand why Arsenal hesitated when they had the opportunity to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad. They sat on their hands, and Newcastle swooped in and took him. That was ridiculous.

‘If ARSENAL want to win the Premier League title, they should go to Newcastle and bang £100million on the table for Isak as soon as the January transfer window opens.

‘I think the kid looks really good whenever I see him play. He does all the right things properly. He’s a threat. He would score so many goals playing for Arsenal.’

ARTETA RESPONDS TO RASHFORD LINKS

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has refused to be drawn on *ARSENAL*s link with a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is tipped to leave the Red Devils in the coming transfer window.

Rashford is a player that has been at Man United all through his career, and was tipped to become one of the best attackers in the game a few seasons ago when he hit an impressive 30 goals, but since then it has all gone wrong.

He looks nothing like the player that could bang in goals on a weekly basis and because of that he has fallen well down the pecking order at Old Trafford, which has led to alot of rumours that we could make an offer in the upcoming January window.

Arsenal have been mentioned as a possible destination for the star, but When asked if he believes he could reignite Rashford’s career at Arsenal, Arteta opened up and replied: ‘No, and you know that I’m not going to talk about players from other clubs.’

Former Arsenal Star Bacary Sagna recently came out and had his say on a possible deal – The ex-Arsenal right back said: “I would love to see Marcus Rashford at Arsenal. I think if you added Rashford to Arsenal’s attack, with the pace that he has, Arsenal would destroy the opposition.

‘Adding Rashford to an extremely talented squad would be a frightening prospect for Arsenal’s rivals. Rashford is so quick.

“I think Arsenal having Rashford would enable ARSENAL to have more variety in attack and I would love to see Gabriel Jesus and Marcus Rashford in the same team, pressing with so much intensity. Rashford joining Arsenal would be a wonderful signing for the club and a real statement of ambition.

“He hasn’t been at his best, but when that happens you need support and a good environment to bring you back to your best level. You need your teammates and your manager to lift you up. You need people to believe in you.”
