A 5-1 scoreline perhaps doesn’t do Crystal Palace justice in an end-to-end meeting with Arsenal.
Oliver Glasner’s side started the game well, causing problems for the Gunners with Ismalia Sarr particularly dangerous as he cut in from the flank. Crystal Palace went in 3-1 down at half time with Sarr on the scoresheet alongside a Gabriel Jesus brace and Kai Havertz finish, with both sides still in it.
The title chasers moved up a gear after the break with Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice also scoring as the match got away from the hosts. He’s how the Crystal Palace players rated.
Crystal Palace player ratings
GK - Dean Henderson, 6
Not responsible for the five goals going in but not wholly convincing either. Made a good save before the fourth and will have been frustrated to see that come back past him.
LWB - Tyrick Mitchell, 6
Set through Sarr well for his goal in the first half but struggled today, looking particularly lost for the first goal.
CB - Maxence Lacroix, 7

Earned the applause of Selhurst Park with some of his defensive work, a recovery to win the ball back of Jesus after a mistake particularly good, but did play Martinelli onside for his goal.
CB - Marc Guehi, 6
Cut a frustrated figure as Arsenal dominated, lunging in and seeing yellow for a silly challenge in the second half.
CB - Chris Richards, 5
Shown up by a talented Arsenal attacking line and struggled with the Gunners’ pace.
RWB - Nathaniel Clyne, 4
Off the pace. Slow to come out and block the second Jesus goal and saw yellow for a nasty challenge on Calafiori in the second half.
CM - Jefferson Lerma, 6
Had some really nice moments in the first half on the ball and was robust helping out defensively but faded and Arsenal found space easy to come by in midfield.
CM - Will Hughes, 7

Tried to set the tempo with some high pressing early on and had Selhurst Park roaring with a tackle and run in the second half, but outclassed by a better team today.
LW - Daichi Kamada, 4
Struggled to find influence tonight with Sarr posing so much more of a threat. A half hearted volley from distance that flew well over the bar in the first half summed up his evening.
ST - Jean-Philippe Mateta, 6
Had his chances and certainly should have managed to poke past David Raya when one on one in the first half.
RW - Ismalia Sarr, 8
The standout man tonight. Arsenal really struggled to get the better of the dangerous winger, who kept finding the right positions. Made Raya work but should have done better with a couple of chances in front of goal.
SUBS - Eddie Nketiah (4), Cheick Doucoure (5), Justin Devenny (6), Jeffrey Schlupp (N/A).
