Kai Havertz's celebration after putting Arsenal 3-1 ahead against Crystal Palace immediately sparked rumours he is expecting his first child - a message already confirmed by his partner last month.
Mikel Arteta's side travelled to Selhurst Park for a second match against the Eagles of the week. On Wednesday they came out on top playing at home, securing their place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
This evening's game has not been short of goalscoring action either with the opening 15 minutes setting the pace. Gabriel Jesus struck twice either side of Ismaila Sarr's shock equaliser.
The Brazilian looked to have netted another hat-trick having also done so in midweek, only to be denied by the post. It was not to worry for Arsenal though as Havertz clinically followed in to tap-in on the goal-line.
To celebrate, he grabbed the match ball and tucked it beneath his shirt and sucked his thumb before receiving congratulations from his team-mates.
On November 28, his wife Sophia Weber announced the couple are expecting their first child together. This is the first time since he has paid tribute by means of a goal celebration.
The pair have been in a relationship since 2018, were engaged in July 2023 and finally tied the knot in July this year, shortly after the European Championships finished.
Weber announced her pregnancy along with the message: "Our biggest blessing."
And so, this goal and celebration in tribute leave Arsenal with a 3-1 advantage at the break against Palace. The current result would see them maintain their third-place positioning ahead of Nottingham Forest, who beat Brentford earlier in the day.
The only downside is injury to Bukayo Saka forced the winger off early in the game, clutching his right hamstring.
