Mason Mount appears likely to miss Manchester United’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal through injury, after news of a setback was confirmed this week.

Mason Mount returned to Manchester United’s Premier League starting lineup against Arsenal earlier this month, his first start in the competition since August.
But his comeback didn’t last long, and he was forced off after just 14 minutes against Manchester City last weekend.
Ruben Amorim has now confirmed that Mount is set to miss “several weeks” through injury, adding: “I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long.”

That’s very likely to affect Mount’s participation in United’s next match at the Emirates Stadium, with the FA Cup encounter now just three weeks away.
Victor Lindelof is also a more minor doubt for the match, after coming off injured during United’s League Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
“I think he has something we have to assess to say specifically what he has,” Amorim admitted afterwards.

Luke Shaw is out injured at the moment as well, with no specific return date given.
Considering Shaw’s long-term injury problems, it’s unlikely United will want to rush him back, so he may also end up missing the Arsenal game. But at this stage, we don’t know.
Arsenal are sure to be without Ben White for the match, and there’s still no update on when Takehiro Tomiyasu might return.
As it stands, the rest of Mikel Arteta’s squad are expected to be fit in time for the match on January 12th, but the busy period of festive fixtures isn’t over yet.
