Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has issued a strong message to manager Mikel Arteta, declaring he’s “ready for more” after an explosive return to form with five goals in two matches against Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian striker ended an 11-month Premier League goal drought in style, netting twice in Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday. This came just days after his hat-trick in the Carabao Cup against the same opposition, a performance that helped Arsenal progress in the competition.

Jesus struck his first league goal since January within six minutes and added a second before halftime, showcasing the clinical edge Arsenal have been missing at times this season.

“I am very happy with the goals. As a number nine, I know the pressure is always on to score,” Jesus said after the match. “But the win, the three points, was massive today. I know my qualities and know I can score. I just need to be in the right positions to finish, like I was today.”

Despite injuries disrupting his rhythm earlier this season, Jesus’ return offers a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack. While Kai Havertz has been Arteta’s preferred central option for much of the campaign, Jesus’ versatility and title-winning experience with Manchester City make him an invaluable asset in Arsenal’s title charge.

“When I play with a smile on my face, everything is different,” Jesus added. “I’m trying to keep my mind strong and help the team. I know I need to be more in the box to finish the action. It’s great to be back playing more consistently. When you’re playing regularly, it’s a different feeling.”

Jesus acknowledged the expectations that come with wearing the No.9 shirt for a club of Arsenal’s stature, stating, “It’s Arsenal, it’s a huge club, and I know the pressure to score is there. I’m happy to get more chances, but it’s up to me to deliver.”
