Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was forced off with an injury in the 25th minute of the Gunners’ emphatic 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. The 23-year-old left the field with an apparent right leg injury and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches, raising concerns about the severity of his condition.

Saka appeared to injure his hamstring and was visibly distressed as trainers helped him off the pitch. Manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern about the injury but noted that further assessments were needed.

“We lost [Raheem Sterling] yesterday and now Bukayo today. That’s a worry,” Arteta said post-match. “He grabbed his hamstring and couldn’t continue. We don’t know the extent of the injury yet, but we’re pretty worried. Let’s hope it’s not too much.”

Speaking to Match of the Day, Arteta added, “It’s too early to assess him. It was a precaution to take him off, but he felt something, and we’ll have to wait for more information.”

Saka’s replacement, Leandro Trossard, played a key role as Arsenal delivered a dominant performance. Gabriel Jesus led the charge with a brace, followed by goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Declan Rice.

The victory marked Arsenal’s second win over their London rivals in just four days, following their Carabao Cup triumph earlier in the week.

The injury is a setback for Bukayo Saka, who has been in sensational form this season. The England international has contributed nine goals and 13 assists in 24 matches across all competitions, including five goals and 10 assists in 16 Premier League appearances.

Arsenal’s attention now turns to their upcoming fixtures, with a home match against Ipswich Town followed by a trip to Brentford. The Gunners will be hoping for positive news regarding Saka’s injury as they look to maintain their strong form.
