Alan Shearer has submitted his prediction for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Everton.

Chelsea are back in action on Sunday when they make what will likely be their final appearance at Goodison Park. The Blues have a chance at going top for Christmas day with a win and a Liverpool defeat, but either way, a win would be a big boost as they look to remain in the race going into the new year.

Fortunately for Chelsea, they do have the most dangerous attack in the Premier League, scoring six more than any other team so far this season. Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer has submitted his prediction for the clash, and while he is backing a Blues win, he is tipping Enzo Maresca’s men to suffer a wobble sooner rather than later.

Shearer told The Metro: “Everton should take confidence from last weekend. Jordan Pickford was outstanding. Also with the takeover, great news for Everton looking forward but I don’t think that’ll have too much of an effect on the pitch.

“I think that the form Chelsea are in, the teams Maresca is able to put out I’d think that Chelsea will go to Goodison and take all the points. Any team that are sat in second, in the form that Chelsea are in, are in the title race. But I still think they’ll have a blip and I’m not sure they’ll end up in second but they’re there and you have to take them seriously. You can’t just say they have no chance. Of course they’ve got a chance. I still don’t think they’ll win it, though. Prediction: Chelsea win.”
