Pereira interest
Interest is being generated in Fulham star Andreas Pereira, according to reports in Brazil. According to various reports, as detailed by SportWitness, Palmeiras are pushing for a deal, and the club’s president Leila Pereira has already met with the player and his agent earlier in the year in a bid to convince him of the move.
It would be a surprise for Pereira to leave Fulham halfway through what has already been a strong season, but it’s reported Palmeiras will consider offering Richard Ríos or Victor Reis as part of a deal, given they are unable to meet the more than £25million asking price in cash.
Spurs blow
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to add to his squad in January after seeing it decimated by injuries, but it’s unlikely he will get anything resembling a winter war chest.
According to GiveMeSport, Spurs will only stump up the money for one signing, specifically a left-sided defender, given the current injury situation. That will come as a blow to Spurs fans who are hoping their chances of challenging for a top four spot will be boosted by the arrival of fresh talent.
Amorim on the positives
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim believes his side are improving as they prepare to face Bournemouth in their final game before Christmas. He said: “I think we are improving near the opponent box. We have some games that we are near the box but without real threat. You could see different things (against Tottenham),” Amorim added.
“You could see we can shoot, we are near the goal and you feel it, you really feel it. I think it is a good thing in our team. I feel that our team is faster at pressing more, the physically is improving and the understanding of the game. You can see it by the controlling of the game and you see it more especially in this game, but also the last game that we understand more the position and the movement we should do. There is a lot of things, but it is hard to think of the good things because we are out and let’s focus on the next competition.”
