Everton vs Chelsea Premier League score prediction with huge title race impact

Chelsea have the chance to go to the top of the Premier League table when they take on Everton later today.

A 5-1 win over Shamrock Rovers midweek saw Chelsea finish top of the Conference League league phase while extending their winning run to eight games in a row across all competitions, showing just how good the Blues have been in recent weeks. And, with Enzo Maresca's side kicking off before Liverpool later today, Chelsea could go top of the league – albeit for a few hours if the Reds can beat Tottenham.

The last meeting between Chelsea and Everton saw Cole Palmer score four in a 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge, though the Blues did lose the reverse fixture 2-0 at Goodison Park. Everton have proven a difficult team to beat in recent weeks, with Sean Dyche's side keeping six clean sheets in their last nine league games, most recently in a 0-0 draw away to Arsenal.

So, can Chelsea pick up a huge three points? Let's take a look.

Everton vs Chelsea score predicted

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Everton could set up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Mangala, Gueye, Ndiaye; Doucoure; Calvert-Lewin.

We predict that the Blues could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Sanchez; Gusto, Tosin, Colwill, Veiga; Caicedo, Enzo; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson.

Chelsea were in full control at Goodison Park from minute one, with the Blues causing all sorts of problems for the Everton defence and doing everything right but score. Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson were the stars of the show in the first half, but Jordan Pickford was on top form to keep the score level heading into the break.

In fact, Pickford was single-handedly keeping the hosts in the game, with Everton having their first shot of the game 62 minutes in. The goalkeeper was making some tremendous saves to frustrate Maresca's side, with one of the standouts coming with 20 minutes to go to deny Palmer.

Palmer received the ball from Jadon Sancho before firing a shot at goal from outside the box, but somehow, Pickford got across in time to palm the ball over the bar at full stretch, leaving Chelsea scratching their heads as to how they weren't ahead. Pedro Neto had a great chance to score in the 88th minute when Jackson flicked the ball to him on the right, but once again, Pickford made a fantastic save to deny the winger and hold the Blues to a stalemate.

EA FC 25 pre dicted final score: Everton 0-0 Chelsea
