REPORT: United And Arsenal Scout Argentinian Playmaker 'Everyone's Crazy About' But Club's Buyback Clause Is An Issue

Manchester United are one of the clubs who have sent scouts to watch Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz this season, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport claim that “everyone’s crazy about” the Argentinian international, who has attracted the attention of the Red Devils, Arsenal and Inter Milan.

Paz only joined Como from Real Madrid for €6m back in August and he has gone on to score 2 goals and provide 4 assists in his first 15 appearances for the Serie A side.

The 20-year-old was also handed his first cap by Argentina at senior level back in October, playing the last 20 minutes of the 6-0 win over Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier.

Paz actually got an assist in the game, providing the pass for Lionel Messi’s hat-trick goal just before fulltime.

The player’s future is in the hands of Real

Despite selling Paz last summer, his former club Real Madrid included a buyback clause that means they can re-sign him for just £7.5m at the end of this season.

While the fee does increase incrementally every year he stays at Como, it does effectively give the Spanish giants full control of the player’s future.

United would not be able to sign Paz so cheaply

Como would certainly demand a lot more money from Ruben Amorim’s side if they were to make their own approach during a future transfer window.

The fact that Paz can play both as a No.10 and out wide would suggest that he would be perfect for one of the two positions either side of the main striker in Amorim’s front three.

Considering the midfielder’s lack of experience at the highest level, though, the Red Devils may wait and see how he develops at Como before deciding to make an offer.
