Flick sends out strong message after Barca defeat

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick says he’s not giving up on the title despite another defeat on [Saturday against Atletico in La Liga](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/21/24325277/barcelona-atletico-madrid-la-liga-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions).

The Catalans were caught out by Diego Simeone’s side, despite an impressive performance, and suffered yet another loss.

The result continues a bad run for Barcelona in La Liga but Flick is feeling in defiant mood.

> “We played against a team that had its chances and I think we played a brilliant game. In the first half, we had chances. I’m very proud. But sad with the result, but it shows that Atlético is an experienced team that expected this.

>

> “I think our style was fantastic. I’m sad. I’m happy for Pedri, with Gavi... and we’ll work on this next year. We’re not giving up. This break is sad, but we’ll come back strong. The squad shows that it can score more goals.

>

> “We play football to win. The points lost against Las Palmas and Leganés are in the past. We have to concentrate on the next ones at home, we have to win every game. We have to concentrate on the next games at home.

>

> “Now there is a break. Today we saw how we can play. This aspect is positive. I told the team that. We will show after the break how strong we are. We are very disappointed by the defeat, but life goes on. We will celebrate Christmas and on the 29th we will return to training and concentrate on what we can do.”

Flick has been absent from the touchline for Barca’s last two games due to suspension but will be back next time out when the [team return to action in 2025](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/11/24318619/barcelona-boss-hansi-flick-handed-two-match-ban-for-betis-red-card).
