Liverpool will need to pay £30m to sign 'main target', club focusing on deal - journalist

Liverpool could be looking to sign a new left-back in the summer transfer window, and they have been heavily linked with a move for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, the Reds are “homing in on a swoop” for the 27-year-old left-back and will have to pay £30 million for him.

Liverpool have been tracking the left-back for several months, and in the past few days, they have been focusing on a deal to secure his signature.

The Reds are also interested in AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, but Robinson has emerged as a “main target” for the club.

Robinson is liked by both the Manchester clubs, but he would be keen to move to Liverpool if the Reds pay the cash.

Andy Robertson’s Liverpool future in doubt

Arne Slot has made it clear that he is very happy with the squad he has at his disposal, but if there’s a good player available at the right price, the club would definitely try to get him on board.

Andy Robertson has been a great servant for the club, but his future could come under scrutiny in the summer.

The Reds are not looking to push him out but could be willing to cash in on him if there’s a good offer on the table.

The 30-year-old has struggled with form and fitness this season, and Slot has often used Kostas Tsimikas ahead of him in league games.

Robertson has plenty of football left in him, but the summer will also represent Liverpool’s best chance to sell him at a high transfer fee.

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards have their own methods of hiring players, and it will surprise many if the club decide to pay £30m for Robinson.

Kerkez should be high on the priority list, considering his age and quality. Hughes knows him very well and could use his old connection to bring him to Liverpool.
