West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus scored our equaliser against Brighton on Saturday.
Mohammed Kudus hasn’t been anywhere near his best for West Ham this season, but there’s a long way to go between now and the end of the campaign, and we all know what he’s capable of.
Back in October, Kudus and Lopetegui reportedly had to be separated during the half-time interval of our clash with Brentford.
After that alleged incident, the West Ham owners apparently contacted Kudus’s representatives in order to explain to them that everything was fine between the player and manager.
I’m not sure I believe that though.
Every single time Kudus has left the pitch early this season, he has completely ignored Lopetegui, most notably when he was sent-off during our 4-1 defeat to Tottenham two months ago.

All is clearly not well at the London Stadium – Lopetegui has fallen out with Jean-Clair Todibo as well don’t forget.
Kudus’s body language this season has reeked of frustration. Aside from his goal against Brighton, he wasn’t at the races at all.
So what did he make of the game and West Ham’s form in general?

The Ghanaian clearly hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with Lopetegui this season.
And that is what makes his latest comments so surprising.
Kudus spoke to reporters after the 1-1 draw with Brighton, and lent his support to Lopetegui by urging patience from the fans, as quoted by WHUFC.com.
“I think we’re getting close to our best, step-by-step, and the team gave their best today,” Kudus said. “The boys showed good energy and resilience to come back after going down, and although we wanted the win, we’ll take the point and move forward.

“It feels good to have been able to contribute to the result. As an attacker, it’s always good to score, and it will really help my confidence. It would’ve been nice to have helped to get all three points, but it wasn’t meant to be.
“We’re together as a group, and I think we’re getting there. We have a lot of quality, and I think there is a lot that we can achieve. It’s about completing the puzzle together, and hopefully we can do better again in the next game.”
Those comments surprised me, I must say.
As mentioned earlier, it has been clear to see throughout the season that Mohammed Kudus hasn’t been happy at all with West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui.
I have to say, I truly believe that those comments from Kudus were nothing more than lip service.
We can all see that we’re going nowhere fast under Lopetegui. It’s clear that the Spaniard hasn’t bedded in any kind of footballing philosophy at the club, and that’s not good enough after nearly six months in charge.
I’m convinced that Lopetegui will be gone soon and then we will start seeing the best of Kudus.
I took the Ghanaian’s comments yesterday very much with a pinch of salt.
