Chelsea have a lot of talented players who are not currently with Enzo Maresca’s squad.
The likes of Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez do not officially join Chelsea until next year, while Andrey Santos is on loan at Strasbourg for the season.
Talent is not the only thing some of Chelsea’s young players possess, though. One loanee has recently been praised for his professionalism and leadership.
The Blues still appear to be in the market for young footballers with potential. It has been claimed that Chelsea want to sign 19-year-old Dario Essugo from Sporting Lisbon.

Liam Rosenior hails Andrey Santos as a ‘great example’
Santos has really impressed on the pitch this season during his loan spell at Strasbourg.
In 15 appearances, the midfielder has scored seven goals, with his latest coming in his side’s 3-0 win against RC Calais on Saturday.
However, Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has also been impressed with Santos’ professionalism and leadership.
Speaking about the 20-year-old after his team’s last outing, he said: “Andrey is a great example of professionalism and a great example in the locker room. We know he will be able to lead the team and that’s what he did today by opening the scoring.”

It was the Brazilian’s 26th appearance for Strasbourg across his two spells at the club. Santos has already captained Strasbourg this term, showing just how much Rosenior trusts him.
Andrey Santos’ loan spell at Strasbourg going to plan
Chelsea will be really pleased with how Santos’ development at their sister club is going.
There, he is playing regularly and thriving. In Ligue 1, the Brazil international has performed exceptionally well.
For example, in the 14 games Santos has played, he has scored six goals. He is also making 3.9 tackles per game, which is the highest average in Strasbourg’s squad.

It will not be long until Santos is ready for Chelsea’s first team. With Romeo Lavia still picking up injuries, he could be a useful player to have next season.
The futures of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei remain uncertain, so there could be room for Santos in Maresca‘s squad next year.
