Mohammed Kudus doesn’t look like a man who wants to leave West Ham United, BBC Sport journalist Timothy Abraham has said.
The Ghana international bagged his third Premier League goal of the season in the Hammers 1-1 Premier League draw against Brighton on Saturday.
Kudus has not always hit top form under Lopetegui, something not helped by a lengthy ban for violent conduct against Tottenham back in October.
But Abraham shared his thoughts on the future of Kudus and gave an insight into why he doesn’t believe the attacker is seeking an exit from Lopetegui’s squad any time soon after what he saw happen against the Seagulls.
“This season Mohammed Kudus has not quite been the force of nature he was during his debut campaign with West Ham,” he wrote on the BBC Sport website (21 December).

“A key figure under former boss David Moyes it has taken his successor Julen Lopetegui a while to figure out quite how to use the 24-year-old.
“Inevitably this has led to speculation linking the Ghana international with a move away from the London Stadium. “However, there are few signs that Kudus is hankering for a transfer.
“Certainly the manner in which he celebrated his goal against Brighton – sitting on a wooden elephant stool with team-mate Crysencio Summerville – is not the behaviour of someone unhappy with life”.
Mohammed Kudus leaving West Ham United would be a disaster
Last season, the partnership of Kudus and Jarrod Bowen was one of the main reasons why David Moyes managed to lead the Hammers to a ninth-placed finish in the Premier League.
While his form hasn’t been the best this season with the attacker only contributing to five goals across all competitions thus far, he is still undoubtedly an integral part of West Ham’s team and a player with huge potential.

The former Ajax man offers the Hammers a sublime option on both flanks and while he may not have found the goal-scoring form he showed last season, if his performance against the Seagulls is anything to go off of, it’s evident that there’s still a player of real quality within him.
Of course, the likes of Crysencio Summerville were welcomed through the London Stadium doors in the summer and although he’s had spells of decent form, it still feels like Kudus could be one of the main men for Lopetegui as the season goes on.
