Jean-Clair Todibo has assured West Ham fans that he intends to stay and is “not going anywhere” after he reportedly fell out with Julen Lopetegui.

In what has been a difficult season for the Hammers, Caught Offside recently reported that the centre-back had a row with his boss with the pair having to be separated and as a result, Todibo was threatening to leave the London Stadium.

The 24-year-old had played just two minutes of football since, before being brought on at half-time on Saturday [21 December] in his side’s 1-1 draw against Brighton.

After a good showing in the second-half, Todibo took posted some pictures from the game on his Instagram. In response to a supporter’s comment asking him not to leave, the defender replied: “I’m not gonna leave big man. West Ham are massive!! Don’t believe the media.”

After signing for the Irons in the summer, Todibo was categorised as one of, if not the, addition of the window for Lopetegui’s side with the loan deal set to become permanent in the summer of 2025.

However, the 24-year-old has struggled to show what he can do in his time with the East London outfit so far which has not been helped with stints in and out of the side as the season has gone on.

Furthermore, it has been an inconsistent term for the Hammers in general so far, meaning few players have really been able to shine in the side with a falling out with the manager surely not helping things in this respect.

That being said, the defender did put on a good display for his side on Saturday afternoon and based on his Instagram comments, he has no intention of leaving the London Stadium even acknowledging the situation that had been reported in the media.

The best thing now would be to see the player start to flourish in Lopetegui’s side to put to bed any conversations about things happening away from the football pitch and proving to the supporters the level of player they gained.
