Chelsea’s winning run ended this weekend following a goalless draw against Everton in the Premier League.
Chelsea had to settle for one point after battling to a 0-0 draw away to Everton, so they missed the chance to temporarily climb to the top of the division table.
The Blues had won their previous eight matches across all competitions going into Sunday’s fixture, but they struggled to break down Sean Dyche’s resilient defence.
Robert Sanchez, 27, was part of a Chelsea defence that also kept a rare clean sheet this season. The Blues goalkeeper wasn’t overly tested throughout the 90 minutes, but he popped up with a couple of crucial interventions.
Chris Sutton thinks Chelsea’s Sanchez has been harshly criticised during recent months. Well, the Spanish shot-stopper proved why he’s the first-choice gloveman under Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea fans agree on Robert Sanchez
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media agree that Sanchez was the team’s best performer in the Everton stalemate.
He made one top save from Idrissa Gueye in the first-half. Afterwards, he denied Jack Harrison in spectacular fashion during the second period.
Here are many Blues fans on X saying Sanchez was their best player on Sunday:

“MOTM has to be Sanchez for real. No one comes close,” another supporter added.
One fan posted: “Motm Sanchez. Many crucial saves to help us otherwise we will lose 2-0. Cannot do anything against this anti football low block side.”
“The day Sanchez decides to put in a MOTM performance we decided not to score,” another supporter claimed.
Robert Sanchez stands tall for Chelsea
Sanchez deserves big credit for another eye-catching Blues performance, which has earned him some big praise from a fanbase that has doubted him at times this year.
Here is a look at the goalkeeper’s individual statistics from the Everton draw via FOTMOB:
Match rating – 8.0
Minutes played – 90
Touches – 29
Accurate passes – 12/15 (80%)
Saves – 4
Recoveries – 7

Speaking back in November, Rob Green said Chelsea fans get nervous when Sanchez has the ball. However, it feels like there’s been a shift more recently in his game, where he’s taking less risks.
If Sanchez can keep the individual errors out of his game, he’s pretty strong in other areas and can pull off some fantastic saves.
