Leicester City’s survival hopes were dealt a huge blow on Sunday as the Foxes fell to another heavy defeat.
Wolves beat Leicester 3-0 at the King Power Stadium as the away side ran riot in the first half to make it back-to-back defeats for Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The loss means the Foxes are just two points clear of the bottom three, with Wolves closing the gap thanks to the win in the East Midlands.
There were boos towards two Leicester players as fans made their feelings known inside the ground in a game that can be perfectly described as the nightmare before Christmas.
Despite that, there was still plenty to take away from the game so, with that, here are three things we learned from a forgettable afternoon.

Leicester really miss Mads Hermansen
Losing any key player is big, but when it’s Mads Hermansen, it’s a real problem.
Hermansen has prevented more goals than any other Premier League goalkeeper this season but after picking up an injury against Newcastle United, was unable to recover in time.
Danny Ward was selected as his replacement and Foxes fans were angry to see Ward’s name in the line up.

He was unable to justify his selection and conceded three first half goals to make it six goals conceded across two games.
It’s one thing putting the ball in the back of the net but it’s another keeping it out and Leicester are doing neither very well but if Hermansen isn’t back soon then survival just got a whole lot harder.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has doubts over Facundo Buonanotte
For the second time in Van Nistelrooy’s reign, Facundo Buonanotte started the game as a substitute.
Fans were baffled to see Buonanotte on the bench and by the time he was brought on, the game was already out of sight.

The Argentine missed out on the 2-2 draw against Brighton due to the Premier League’s loan rules but since then has had to settle for a cameo role.
Buonanotte has been Leicester’s best player this season and leaving him out of the team in a time where the Foxes are lacking creativity seems odd.
Leicester must invest in January
Survival is the sole goal for the Foxes this season but right now, that seems like a tough ask.
Funds have to be made available for Van Nistelrooy, in particular signings that improve Leicester in defence.

Full-back is a position that Leicester look weak in. Recent reports have suggested that £8m-rated Valentin Gomez could join Leicester whilst Hiroki Sekine has also been linked with the Foxes.
Either way, Leicester can’t afford to waste time and let others strengthen while they get weaker.
