£32m Chelsea player will be having nightmares about his performance in 0-0 draw with Everton - opinion

Chelsea’s attackers really had a game to forget against Everton at Goodison Park earlier.

Everton were able to limit Chelsea‘s threat and kept Cole Palmer really quiet, for example.

However, for as good as Sean Dyche’s men were defensively, they could not completely restrict Palmer’s teammate Nicolas Jackson.

In fact, the striker was quite lively. He was unable to convert the chances that fell to him, though, making it a bad day at the office. Before the game, former Premier League defender Stephen Warnock claimed that Jackson still gets caught offside too frequently.

Nicolas Jackson not clinical enough against Everton

No one will want to rewatch Chelsea’s draw with Everton. It was a boring affair that deserved to end in a draw.

However, it was a game for Jackson to forget especially after some of the opportunities that he wasted.

According to Sofascore, the striker actually missed two big chances, while one of his shots hit the woodwork.

But the £32m Senegal international’s performance at Goodison Park shows he is not the finished product just yet.

Christopher Nkunku could get chance against Fulham

Chelsea’s next game is against Fulham on Boxing Day, which is then followed by a trip to Portman Road to take on Ipswich Town.

With fixtures coming thick and fast now and Jackson fluffing his lines at Goodison, it would not be a shock if Enzo Maresca decided to give Christopher Nkunku a chance in the west London derby next week.

Maresca needs to give him more game time if he wants the 27-year-old to remain at Stamford Bridge. It has already been claimed that Nkunku is looking for a transfer in January after failing to oust Jackson out of the team this season.
