Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media after [Real Madrid](https://www.managingmadrid.com)’s 4-2 win over Sevilla to end their 2024 on a high. He was asked about Real Madrid’s 2024, as well as what they will try to do in 2025, to which he said: “It’s very difficult to match a year like this one. We have a very high-quality squad, so we will try, but it is very difficult.”

“I’ve never worried for my position. It’s my responsibility when things don’t work, but the club has supported me and the players have helped us. All coaches need support their club and I trust in the club.”

“We’ve given players an individual routine to work on, but primarily they need to rest. I’m happy my players can rest.”
### Ancelotti on defensive commitment
“I asked the players for more defensive commitment. We’re missing big players and that has been a weakness. The attackers have been very good in the last few games, Mbappé has done very well, Bellingham and Rodrygo have started to score.”
