With the January transfer window just around the corner, Celtic will undoubtedly be linked to various players over the coming weeks.
After Hoops winger James Forrest’s latest injury, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to dip into the transfer market and bring in another winger as back up.
Adding another striker was probably an option too but with Celtic recalling Jonny Kenny from Shamrock Rovers in January, it looks like there is no need to add a new frontman to the ranks.
But it seems that one player who has been linked to Celtic recently could very well be on the move after Enzo Maresca admitted he will ‘try to find a solution’ his £20m man’s unhappiness at being left out of his Chelsea team.
Enzo Maresca admits Carney Chukwuemeka might ‘want to leave’ Chelsea amid Celtic links
Chukwuemeka was linked to Celtic this month after struggling to break into Enzo Maresca’s team with a loan move to Parkhead being mooted.
And speaking at his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s ahead of today’s clash with Everton, Maresca admits his £20m man might want to get out of Stamford Bridge.
Maresca told Chelsea TV, “There are players that unfortunately didn’t play a lot with us in all the competitions like (Ben) Chilwell, like Carney (Chukwuemeka).
“Probably they are the first [to say] that they want to leave because they train every day, because they want to play games and if they don’t play games probably they are thinking of leaving.

“Each player is a bit different situation. So we’re going to see if some of them are coming and knocking on the door to say ‘I want to leave’ or something like that. We will try to find a solution.”

However, how do his stats match up at both Aston Villa and Chelsea and do they make good reading for the Celtic fans?
Carney Chukwuemeka Played Goals Assists
Aston Villa 16 0 1
Aston Villa B (U18 & U19) 55 13 13
Chelsea 32 2 1
Chelsea U21 2 0 0
Stats from Transfermarkt
With almost 50 combined appearances for Chelsea and Aston Villa, it’s clear the youngster has the talent to play at the top level.
What’s also clear is that on £100,000 per week at Stamford Bridge [Spotrac], a move to Celtic could prove difficult unless the Premier Leauge club pick up the majority of Chukwuemeka’s salary.
