Nottingham Forest defeated Brentford on Saturday to go fourth in the Premier League and that’s the position that the team will hold on Christmas Day.
Forest won courtesy of goals from Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men made it three successive victories.
After the game, Elanga claimed that he’d received text messages from Jermain Defoe who has become a bit of a mentor for him of late.
This win was made all the more impressive given that Brentford had won seven and drawn one of their eight home games before yesterday.
Brian Laws felt Espirito Santo got it spot on with a tactical tweak and the Forest head coach really earned his stripes during the game.

Two Nottingham Forest stars compared to Arsenal duo
Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo have been in fine form for the Reds this season and yesterday was the sixth time this season the team has managed a clean sheet.
Damien Delaney played some of his football in the Premier League and he actually thinks the Forest pair are on par with the central defenders at Arsenal.
He told Premier Sports TV: “The beauty of Nottingham Forest is that there are two centre-backs who are as good as the Arsenal boys Gabriel and Saliba, they’re incredible.

“I know it was a three today with Morato but when the ball goes into the box they just want to head it, get in the way. When their attacking players do have an off day, they will keep clean sheets and they will keep getting points.”
Milenkovic and Murillo can lead Forest to glory
The recruitment model at Forest has often been mocked but the Reds ultimately managed to get Murillo and Milenkovic for £22.6 million.
That deserves almighty credit and together, the pair might just lead Forest to glory – and a place in Europe – this season.
It might be a bit of a stretch to say that Milenkovic and Murillo are on par with Saliba and Gabriel but it’s certainly very close.
Forest were haphazard in both boxes last season but with the influence of Milenkovic now evident, things have massively improved this season.
