Chelsea and Manchester United are keen to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli. They are prepared to spend big in order to secure the signature of Nigerian superstar. Osimhen is open to move away from Italian club permanently next year.
Osimhen has been a long term target for Chelsea. He was linked very heavily with the Blues this summer. Chelsea tried very hard to sign the 25 year old. They were not willing to give up and were trying until the end of deadline day. But the deal never happened.
Napoli had already signed Lukaku and Osimhen had a fallout with the club. This forced him to join Turkish club Galatasaray on loan. Osimhen has continued to impress in Turkey and has been a dependable player.
So far, Osimhen has 12 goals and 4 assists in 15 games for Galatasaray. But his fine form will not help him in getting his place back at Napoli. In addition, they player is unwilling to stay at Turkey which increases his chances of landing in England.
Chelsea and United keen to sign Osimhen
According to Fichajes, both Chelsea and United have shown interest in the 25 year old. The Blues still rate Osimhen highly and are willing to sign him next year. Same has been the case for the Red Devils who are keen to improve their squad. Both clubs are willing to pay around €75 million and Napoli are happy to let the Nigerian leave.
Nicolas Jackson has been in superb form this season. But, the Blues are still keen to add another striker. In addition, Nkunku is very likely to leave which will open up space. Osimhen will directly replace Jackson from the starting lineup.
The Red Devils are very likely to make many changes in their current squad. Firstly, summer signing Zirkzee has completely flopped to make an impact. In addition, Hojlund has also been inconsistent. Lastly, Rashford is very likely to leave the club in January itself.
Osimhen can be a very good addition to the United squad. But it will prove very hard for the Red Devils to convince the striker to join them. They are on 13th position in Premier League and very likely to miss out on European competitions next season.
