Son-Heung Min couldn't prevent Tottenham from losing 6-3 at home to Liverpool
Son-Heung Min
Devastated Tottenham captain Son-Heung Min admitted the 6-3 defeat to Liverpool was "very, very painful" after the Premier League leaders romped to victory at the Tottenham Stadium. Mohamed Salah netted twice, as did Luis Diaz and there were further goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Spurs hit back through James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke but ultimately fell to an embarrassing home defeat.
And their captain, who faced the cameras post-match in an interview with Sky Sports, admitted Tottenham simply couldn't live with Arne Slot's side.

He said: "I'm very disappointed with the result with the result and conceding six at home is not the idea. It's really, really painful.
"What can I say? As a footballer you always want to play but we've got to work hard and recover but we don't want to make any excuses."
Asked how good Liverpool are, Son added: "There's no question. They are top of the league you can see. Top players, top discipline. There's a reason they are top (of the Premier League). If you make any mistake, they punish you. They are a very very good side."
Tottenham have faced criticism of their ambitious playing style, with Ange Postecoglou questioned about his lack of a different plan with 10 first team players sidelined.
And Son said: "Football is always risky, when you sit back you sometimes concede goals. this is our plan so we've got to stick together in the good times and also the difficult times. Today was very painful for the players, fans and club. But we've got to move together and bounce back stronger."
