3 Undervalued PL stars Leicester may target for transfers

Join us in looking at some currently untapped but proven resources that Leicester City could capitalise on during the upcoming January transfer market's opening. The Foxes haven't got the budget to spend like even similarly placed Premier League teams. Therefore the east Midlands club must discover gems or look for cut-price professionals to capture to improve the squad.

And, if you saw the King Power side in action on Sunday afternoon versus Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, you'll be well aware that acquisitions are required. We are facing relegation without some reinforcements.

So which EPL players who aren't being used at the moment stand out as possibly being ready to move and arguably useful to City? Are any of these hypothetical yet prospectively season-saving signings likely to want to join LCFC in their present state? And will their clubs be open to allowing them to leave on loan or permanently?

Which trio of out of favour internationals could Leicester City realistically sign?

Kieran Tierney

The Arsenal left back is an undoubtedly quality asset who should be playing elite football every week if fit. I'd imagine injuries are half of the battle for Mikel Arteta with Tierney.

Nevertheless, if he is available, Tierney could do a great job for the Foxes. He'd be an upgrade on Victor Kristiansen; I've not been impressed with the Dane this season. Leicester would have to steal the Scotsman away from Brendan Rodgers' Celtic, who are reportedly leading the chase at this stage.

Ross Barkley

Speculation exists about the former Everton, Chelsea and Luton Town man. Currently at Aston Villa, Barkley struggles to start or even feature in some games under Unai Emery.

Obviously there is great competition at Villa Park for roles such as with former Fox Youri Tielemans. Not to mention the excellent Morgan Rogers.

So the Foxes should pounce and see if the capable attacking midfielder can be loaned. In the meantime, City should ship out incompetent players in that position.

David Brooks

The Bournemouth winger can be electric and produce goals and assists on his day. He's not beginning the Cherries' fixtures this season really. I think he's underrated. Could Brooks do a job at the King Power?
