Newcastle United are absolutely flying right now.
Eddie Howe’s side made an already good week even better on Saturday, running out 4-0 winners over Ipswich to follow up on big wins against Leicester and Brentford.
While the quality of recent opposition should be taken into account, things are looking positive for Newcastle.
A number of star players impressed at Portman Road on Saturday, though Alexander Isak was surely the standout.
The striker scored a rather brilliant hat-trick so good he was even applauded off by some of the Ipswich fans.

Isak, as has often been the case of late following a slow start to the season, was fantastic throughout.
Still, he could have scored even more on Saturday, having missed some presentable chances.

Indeed, it was something Isak appeared to allude to after the game.

According to The Chronicle, TV cameras were following the striker after the full-time whistle.
Isak could reportedly be heard saying: “I should have had four!”
An unnamed teammate, meanwhile, said: “You should have had five or six!”
While somewhat harsh, they’re certainly not wrong.
Alexander Isak could still break an Alan Shearer record at Newcastle
Isak has scored 23 Premier League goals for Newcastle in the calendar year of 2024 and has two more games in which to get more.
Alan Shearer bagged 27 goals in a year back in 2002, which is the current record. While it would be a huge ask to do it, Isak will fancy his chances given recent form.
It hasn’t been easy for Isak this season amid niggling injuries. When at his free-flowing very best, however, there can be absolutely no doubts about his quality.
An absolutely brilliant striker back in fine form, Isak will be crucial to any success Newcastle have this season.
