All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Premier League.

The Premier League has now wrapped up it’s pre-Christmas schedule, with football returning as soon as Thursday as part of the Boxing Day slate. The festive period plays an important role in shaping the table, and clubs usually know what they are able to compete for heading into the new year.

Palace man praised

Palace had a day to forget on Saturday, suffering a 5-1 thumping against Arsenal, but there was one moment to shout about. That was Ismaila Sarr’s early goal, and that drew praise from Jamie Carragher on commentary.

He said: “That is absolutely outstanding from Crystal Palace and Sarr. It’s a really good pass and Saliba then drops off and doesn’t do enough to block the shot. Sarr uses him and bends the ball around him. What a start to the game we have had.”

Soler transfer latest

Carlos Soler is said to be open to a West Ham stay amid some impressive displays since his arrival, but there is a potential sticking point. While the player is believed to be settled in London and happy with his current situation, a deal is not straightforward.

Sunday Mirror report that Soler would have to take a wage cut on his bloated PSG salary to remain a Hammer. It’s reported Soler would cost West Ham £16.6million to keep beyond this season.

Isak latest

He said: “Makes me laugh! Yeah absolutely (He plans to keep Isak at Newcastle). There’s no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go. He’s very much part of our long-term plans. Personally, I don’t see that being an issue. Every conversation I’ve had concerning his future with him has been very positive. I’d love, for him, with the other players to be the man that contributes to us winning a trophy, that’s the aim.”
