One former Liverpool player has named the biggest threat to his former side’s Premier League title challenge out of Chelsea and Arsenal.
At the moment, Liverpool are top of the league after a fine start to the season as we hit the midway period.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea already agree terms for player to sign in the summer!
Chelsea have gone beyond all expectations to put themselves in second place in the league at Christmas time, which was completely unexpected by anyone. They have defied all the odds to be up there where they are right now, even above Arsenal who are expected to be genuine title challengers this season, and well above Manchester City now, who have really fallen off this season.
But one former Liverpool player has actually named Chelsea as the biggest threat to his former club’s title push this season, despite Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca continuing to play down any chances they have of winning it.
Chelsea only managed a draw with relegation battlers Everton yesterday in the Premier League, which is perhaps a reminder of how up and down this league can be.
Chelsea the biggest threat

Maresca’s Chelsea biggest worry for Liverpool
Liverpool legend Phil Thompson thinks that Chelsea are the biggest threat to the Reds in the Premier League title race.
“I would probably think Chelsea”, he said on LFC TV post match yesterday when asked who are the biggest threat to Liverpool.
“I think Chelsea look as if they have found their soul, as though they have got a belief again in this team.
“They would be my worry. I think they are a little bit tougher than what Arsenal will [be].
“Arsenal are still a great side and it’s certainly going to be very, very tough, but I think we will find a way.”
