Liverpool will go into Christmas Day at the top of the Premier League after an incredible 6-3 win against Tottenham.
The Reds extended their lead to four points with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah both scoring braces as Arne Slot’s side managed to capitalise on Tottenham’s injury woes to produce one of their most entertaining wins of the season so far.
With Salah breaking yet another Premier League record during the win, Liverpool fans will be starting to believe that they can create history this season and become the first English side to ever win the quadruple.
And Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel seems to believe the exact same thing.

Liverpool told they can ‘go on and win all the big things’
Speaking on Premier League productions, the iconic goalkeeper shared his belief that Liverpool could go all the way in winning the quadruple, with the Reds top of the English top-flight, the UEFA Champions League standings and through to the semi-finals of the League Cup.
Schmeichel said: “I think Liverpool in the last couple of years have had goals all over the pitch and that’s been the strength of the team. It would be interesting to see exactly what the difference from last year to this year, they look more solid, but they’re still scoring the goals and coming up with the chances like they did last season, but they look more solid.
“We’re at Christmas now, they’re top of the league, they’re in the semi-final for the League Cup, they’re top of the Champions League, that is brilliant, absolutely fantastic, and now you’re looking at them and thinking: ‘Yeah, this might just be that year where they can go on and win all the big things.’

Liverpool will need signings if they’re to achieve football history
No club in the history of English football has ever won the quadruple, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s United and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City the two teams who have come the closest by winning the treble as both managers missed out on the League Cup.
Yet Liverpool are showing the sort of form that could lead to a historic haul come to the end of the season, though fans and Slot will be firmly aware that signings are needed in the January transfer market if the Reds are to reach this goal of football immortality.
Indeed, Rousing The Kop exclusively revealed that Liverpool have been in contact with Bayern Munich for Jamal Musiala, and with Joao Pedro on the Reds’ shortlist for January, there’s a real chance that the squad could improve in the coming weeks if the right moves are made.
