Arsenal make a hopeful second approach for Bayern Munich star

Arsenal gunning for Joshua Kimmich again…

Arsenal could possibly have made inroads into a deal which looked relatively unlikely in the summer window. As per reports from Arsenal Fanatics News, the Gunners are awaiting motion in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich. The player, who was not keen on a move in this past summer window, has reportedly received another offer from the north Londoners.

The German star was reportedly unsettled at the Allianz Arena and with his contract expiring in June 2025, Kimmich can begin negotiating with clubs outside Germany after January 1. This would suit Arsenal perfectly as they have been in the market for reinforcements of late. Kimmich, who could play as a holding midfielder as well as a right back, could prove to be an invaluable addition.

With Jorginho’s age catching up quickly and Thomas Partey’s contract situation far from being resolved, the Gunners need depth in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Mikel Merino. Additionally, the right back situation has been dire, with Benjamin White and Takehiro Tomiyasu both struggling with injuries.

Would Joshua Kimmich be tempted to take on a new challenge?

Joshua Kimmich came through the youth ranks at RB Leipzig in 2013-15, before making his senior team bow for them in 2015. His performances caught the eyes of Bayern Munich, who acquired him on a long-term deal that year for a reported fee of €7 million.

Since then, Kimmich has established himself as one of Bayern’s most important players, taking over the reins from former great Philip Lahm when he retired in the early 2010s. He has made 414 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring 43 goals and also providing 110 assists. Over the course of his decade-long stint with the club, Kimmich has won a lot of silverware.

He is an eight-time Bundesliga winner, a three-time DFB-Pokal winner, and has also won the UEFA Champions League (2019/20) and the FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern. Now as he enters the twilight years of his career, Kimmich could be tempted to move in search of a new challenge or accomplishment.
