The likes of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez went into Chelsea’s game against Everton on Sunday in great form.
Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson actually combined for Chelsea‘s second goal in their 2-1 win versus Brentford the Premier League fixture before.
However, they could not make the same impact against Everton as the Toffees went on to hold the Blues to a 0-0 draw.
Jackson did not have his best game, missing a couple of really good opportunities, while Fernandez has come in for a bit of criticism for his contribution.

Luis Miguel Echegaray not convinced by Enzo Fernandez’s performance
Fernandez has been in sensational form of late, recently scoring in games against Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Leicester City.
It is something that ESPN pundit Luis Miguel Echegaray has acknowledged, but he does not think that the midfielder was at his best at Goodison Park.
Speaking on ESPN after the game, he said: “The focal points as we know are Cole Palmer, clearly their most influential player, Enzo Fernandez, we know that he’s been doing well recently, wasn’t working out for him. Nico Jackson you’ve mentioned, of course he missed a few chances.
“Chelsea rely so much on that individual prowess when they go forward that when it doesn’t click, then it’s obviously not going to click.”

Like Fernandez, Palmer did not have the same kind of influence he normally has in matches either. Before the draw, Fernandez spoke about how hard Palmer works, putting his success down to that.
Enzo Fernandez’s stats against Everton
Fernandez has definitely had better games this season, but his numbers suggest that he was not actually that bad against Everton.
For example, the 23-year-old still managed to register two key passes and create one big chance.

All things considered, Fernandez and Chelsea do not have to be too disappointed with the result and their performance. In fact, it does not look like they are.
According to goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Chelsea are happy with their performance against Everton.
Goodison Park is a tough place to go and the Blues lost there 2-0 last season. A point is not terrible.
Fernandez, who earns £180,000 a week (via Spotrac) at Stamford Bridge, and his Chelsea teammates take on Fulham next in a west London derby.
